What do you need to prepare for a zombie apocalypse?

On another note, maybe we don't need to eliminate zombies because after all they're (dead) humans too. And they have feelings. And maybe they fall in love and have great zombie weddings...check out this cake!

Obsession: Monograms!

I don't know how it started...saw one monogram on IG (maybe a piece of jewelry). And it turned into an instant obsession for me.

I simply inquired with a designer that I follow on Instagram (my source of all things that make my brain tick..yes, I need a life. Working on that)..I wanted to see if she could make a custom acrylic necklace for me...then hours later into a blackhole of the internet- more and more mongrams.

I searched for hours and could not find another website to let you create a custom monogram. There is, however an iPhone app to purchase- Monogram(custom wallpaper), seems to be the most popular. And there's also 3Initials and Wall About You (all $1.99). I'm sure that you can play on these apps all day long. I'm no sucka!

After seeing what my name looked like and not the sample ABC, I couldn't decide on what I would want on the necklace- the modern block letters, or the traditional script? What do you think?

HIRED!

My interview at the airport Marriott went well!So well, in fact, that I was called for a 2^nd interview! BOOM Baby! Hired. I AM a new hire and now a part of the Front Office Operations team. I am just so happy to have something that is permanent and full time. This has been a long time coming, but definitely not the end. I’m already planning my next move! The job markets are so crazy right now. I always have to question whether changing my career path is the right decision. But hey, I’m rolling with this.This is God’s plan, not mines. 

The whole hiring process was quite painless.Except I have noted, since I’ve interviewed so much over the last 2 years, that women interviewers are hard on applicants. It’s even worse when they double team you. Which is what happened to me. I interviewed with 2 managers the first time, and it was like being chewed up by two alligators. I feel like female managers take a competitive and dominating stance when it comes to evaluatingan applicant’s qualifications and personality for a position. For my second interview, I met with one of the Directors, a male. And I didn’t have that feeling. The room didn’t get hot, and I didn’t fidget or feel faint lol. I feltlike I was just talking to him, and having a conversation about my prior jobs,and why I would be a good fit for the role. He seemed like he was rationalizing my skills and whether I could excel in the role I applied for instead of “oh! Let’s ask her this hard question and see if she answers it correctly.” Like, dang, do you want someone to get this job!? Lol

Anywho, more to come as far getting my hustle on…inother news. I’m booked to work Funk Fest this Saturday. I’ll be bartending.Whoo hoo!

A Different Hair Style

My hair is going through something? ? ? Probably because I'm stressed about EVERYTHING. Such is life, and I am a scorpio (I will deal) Anywho...in an effort to heal some split ends and breakage that I have, I'm trying some TRESemme Split Remedy Leave-In Conditioning Spray, along with the Herbal Essence Honey I'm Strong Conditioner, and I've added Coconut Oil to everything I use in my hair. I also tried this style that I found on a friend's Blog (Krystal is a school mate of mines. hey girl!) Check out her blog www.thefeistyhouse.com

MY RESULTS

I did my twists a lot smaller than Krystal's. This was way too curly for me...so I re set it into 5 big flat twists, then took them down later when I was ready to go out...

THEN I ENDED UP WITH THIS,

I LIKE IT :)

I decided to meet up with my sisters for some birthday fun! They all said they loved my hair, and I replied, that it was kind of a mistake in how it came out, but it works! My ends were not smooth at all, but I understand why, and I had some frizz in the middle :( But I definitely liked it a lot, the curls kept for days, and all I had to do was add a little conditioner and do about 5 flat twists at night.

Interview Today!

Yay! I finally have an interview today. I have applied to so many jobs, and very rarely get called for an interview. So this will be interesting. I'm interviewing for a Guest Services Representative at the Marriott Airport location (pretty much, check in/out, and giving lots of information over and over again).

Getting ready for my interview was a challenge, but surprisingly I got my hair into a slicked back puff. Couldn't pull of a bun, it just wouldn't do it :( Stubborn hair! Think I'm keeping my makeup like this, I have a training later for the Verizon activation that I will be working this week at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Not the best suit, but it's what I have...

"Welcome, how can I help you?" hehe

Makeup: Some sheer lilac eyeshadow from the MAC Smoke & Mirrors compact, Avon Cranberry blush, Revlon Wine Not lipstick
